Background
The Lighthouse was founded Hilary Salmon, Radford Neville and Nick Betts, bringing together decades of experience in high-end British drama, with credits including Luther, Doctor Who, Silk, Youngers, Wuthering Heights, DCI Banks, Silent Witness, Our Girl, Good Omens, and A Discovery of Witches. The team has long-standing relationships with top on- and off-screen talent, especially writers. Their work has earned critical acclaim and major awards, including for Criminal Justice, House of Saddam and Three Girls.
Their Netflix film Scoop, starring Gillian Anderson, Keeley Hawes, Billie Piper and Rufus Sewell, launched in Spring 2024. A dramatisation of the lead-up to Prince Andrew’s Newsnight interview, it became Netflix’s Number One UK film and reached the Top 10 in 56 countries. It was nominated for an Emmy and a Broadcast Award.
They delivered two seasons of 61st Street for AMC, created by Peter Moffat and starring Courtney B. Vance. It landed on Netflix in December 2025 and immediately entered the top 10 shows in the US.
Recent productions include Murder Before Evensong - an adaptation of the Reverend Richard Coles’ novels. When released in autumn 2025, Broadcast called the show a ‘smash-hit’; it became Channel 5’s biggest show of 2025 and the third biggest launch on Acorn in Acorn’s history. Other upcoming shows include Pierre, an original series by Roy Williams and John Donnelly, starring David Harewood, for Channel 4. We are also developing a wide-ranging slate of new drama projects for leading UK broadcasters and global streaming platforms.
